Year 3
Welcome to Year 3!
The classes within our Year Group this year are:
Miss Joshi 3KJ (Year Lead)
Miss Thomas 3ST
Miss Harbun 3SH
We are also supported by Mrs Gibbons, Mrs Deavs, Miss Traves and Mrs Close.
This is a very exciting year in school as children enter Key Stage Two where they will adapt to new routines and adhere to the expectations of being in Key Stage 2.
Whilst children inspire and drive their learning forward throughout the year, we ensure that all key learning objectives are covered in a variety of engaging ways. Please have a look at our curriculum map to see what we are covering.
If you have any concerns regarding your child, please feel free to contact your class teacher through Arbour. If you feel that the matter has not been resolved, please contact Miss Joshi who is Year Group Leader and Key Stage Leader.
We are very much looking forward to meeting with you on 25th or 26th October to discuss your child's progress.
AUTUMN TERM
Romans on the Rampage
This term we will be learning about the Romans. Our enquiry- based question is: “Life as a Roman soldier – great or gruesome?” We will be exploring this question throughout our curriculum with a particular focus on history and geography. The children will investigate the Roman invasion of Britain and explore what life was like during the Roman era. They will learn about the role of a Roman soldier and experience what it was like living in Roman times. The children will be participating in an interactive Roman day after half-term where they will explore artefacts, take part in Roman traditions and learn more about the Roman way of life.
Children will learn about different types of volcanoes around the world, developing our subject knowledge through the reading and writing of non-fiction texts.
Make sure you check our 'Learning Journey' tab to look at examples of the children's work including photos to show what activities they have been getting up to!
