Class 3CT

Claire Turton

Hello, I am Claire and I have been teaching at The Vaynor First School since September 2015. I am now in my sixth year of teaching and have originally worked in schools in Kidderminster and Worcester.

Having worked in Year 4 for the past two and a half years, I have now joined Year 3 and I can't wait to see what this year has to bring.

Outside of school, I enjoy reading, shopping and socialising with my friends and family. I also have a very cute Cocker Spaniel called Alfie who I enjoy taking for walks everyday.

Amy Hewings

Assistant Headteacher - Currently on Maternity Leave

Hello I am Amy Hewings and I joined The Vaynor First School in September 2009, after moving from a school in Shropshire, where I am originally from. I believe that learning should be exciting and creative for children, so I always try to make my classroom a fun and energetic place to be! I have worked throughout Key Stage 1 since being at the school, however this year I am leading the Key Stage Two team and working in Year 3. As well as a class teacher, I am the Assistant Headteacher, so oversee and work closely with all of the Year 3 and 4 staff and children, as well as those across the school.

Out of school I enjoy reading, shopping and socialising with my friends and family. I got married in August and recently moved house so am incredibly busy at the minute!

It is a pleasure to work within such a friendly, hardworking and forward-thinking school; my first years here have been superb and I hope to enjoy many, many more!
