Religious Education (RE)
I’m Georgia and I lead learning in Religious Education at The Vaynor.
At The Vaynor, our Religious Education curriculum follows an enquiry-based approach that encourages pupils to ask and explore big questions about meaning and purpose, beliefs about God and ultimate reality, and what it means to be human. Pupils develop their understanding of a range of religions and worldviews, including Christianity and other principal religions, as well as non-religious worldviews.
Through a systematic approach to enquiry, children learn to investigate, interpret, evaluate and reflect on beliefs, values and practices in local, national and global contexts. Our curriculum helps pupils build secure knowledge and understanding of how religions and worldviews shape individuals, communities and societies.
We aim to support children in developing their own sense of identity and worldview, while recognising and respecting the diversity of others. As they progress through the school, pupils learn to articulate their ideas clearly and thoughtfully, using subject knowledge to explain and reflect on different beliefs and perspectives.
