Physical Education (PE)
I'm Dawn Duggan and I lead learning in Physical Education (PE) at The Vaynor.
At the Vaynor we are passionate about ensuring every child develops a love for movement, sport and healthy living. Physical Education (PE) plays a vital in supporting not only physical development, but also emotional wellbeing, confidence, teamwork and resilience. At our school, we offer a broad and balanced PE curriculum that gives all pupils the opportunity to succeed and enjoy being active. This includes high-quality lessons in a range of sports and activities, from fundamental movement skills in EYFS to team games, athletics, gymnastics, dance and outdoor learning as pupils progress. We also provide enrichment opportunities such as clubs, competitions and active play initiatives to encourage participation beyond the classroom. We believe that PE is essential in helping children build lifelong healthy habits. It supports concentration and social skills while teaching values such as respect, determination, honesty and fair play. Our aim is for every child to leave Vaynor feeling confident, capable and motivated to lead an active lifestyle.
