Walkwood Middle School The Vaynor enjoys a close relationship with Walkwood Middle School as we have a shared campus with strong cross phase educational liaison between staff which ensures consistency in approach.  There is mutual benefit as young people from Walkwood support our children in reading and social activities giving them young leadership skills.

Staff from the middle school teach our Year 4 children for 2 hours every week. This enables the children, most of whom go onto Walkwood, to become familiar with some teachers and for enhanced pupil knowledge to enable middle school staff to enable a smooth transition in Year 5. During 2009-10 we also welcome Mrs Mary Rhodes from Walkwood to our staff for one day a week. Her role is to help both schools to create the strongest cross phase provision we can have for our pupils in Key Stage 2, enabling our joint approach to educating our young people to be as seamless as possible.
